The International Research Conference Aims and Objectives

The 1st International Conference on Sustainable Smart Cities (ICSSC) is an exciting new annual event, with its first edition proudly organized by universities from Europe and Africa. This inaugural conference aims to become a premier international platform where researchers, scientists, academics, industry leaders, and students from around the world can come together to share their latest research, exchange ideas, and address the challenges and opportunities in building smarter, more sustainable cities.

The 1st ICSSC 2026 will be held from November 23th to 25th in the beautiful city of Hammamet, Tunisia a vibrant destination where tradition and innovation meet on the Mediterranean coast. For its very first edition, the conference will feature inspiring keynote addresses, invited sessions, hands-on workshops, and parallel technical sessions. Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage with leading experts, discover the latest technological advances, and explore practical solutions for the cities of tomorrow.

By launching ICSSC, universities from Europe and Africa are creating a new space for collaboration and knowledge exchange, uniting minds from academia, industry, and public policy to address the most urgent sustainability challenges facing our cities. Call for Invited and Special Sessions

The 1st ICSSC 2026 welcomes and encourages the proposal of invited and special sessions in the above and other topics, which aim to focus on some specific area within the main objectives of the conference. Interested researchers who would like to propose and organize an invited/special session, should send an email with their proposals, to icssc2026@icssc.eu. Proposals will be then reviewed by the Committee.

Journal recommendation

After the review process, accepted manuscripts (6–8 pages) will be published in the edited proceedings (SCOPUS indexed) corresponding to their scope. In addition, high-quality papers may be invited for submission to relevant international journals (special or regular issues), including those published by SPRINGER, subject to further peer review.
